My internet has been exceptionally flaky for the last couple of days, to the point where yesterday I was unable to log in at all, which was a sadness. Apologies to intro-post people who are still sticking with me - I will attempt to reply now. If you'd like to keep going, that's shiny. If not, because it has been quite a few days, that's shiny too. <3

SO. True story.

I knew I was going to re-app Luke, but I... forgot when apps opened. And then I had work until 3am on Friday night, woke up at about 11am the next day and by the time I got to my computer, realised that apps had been open for about 3 hours, and me with barely half a canon section written, and absolutely no ideas for the app. SO THEN. I somehow wrote the rest of the app, flailed a bit, then decided I should probably re-read the old one to make sure it wasn't TOO obvious. A-and the canon sections were pretty much exactly the same. Whilst this could have been the subject of further investigation into the mechanics of writing canon sections, it was also REALLY FRUSTRATING and PANIC INDUCING. I re-wrote the canon, re-read the app and was naturally dissatisfied with it as I am with mostly everything that I write ever. So I did what I always do. I sent it to Ronan. And as usual, she SAVED MY SANITY.

Then came googledoc, several invites, lots and lots of useful advice from invitees followed by lots and lots of editing. All the while I'm looking at my watch going OH GOD I NEED TO LEAVE FOR WORK IN LESS THAN AN HOUR/HALF AN HOUR/FIFTEEN MINUTES/NEGATIVE TEN MINUTES. And Jaime was going, chill dude, it's cool, you're fine, CHIIIIILLLLLL. Those were not the exact words but anyway! So I chilled a bit and in that time, the app was produced, and I left for work at a RUN because I was already leaving fifteen minutes later than I had intended to. Thankfully there was very little traffic! Meanwhile, Ronan sent the app in for me, which really just completed the deja vu experience.

The following days were pretty much filled with special conversations with Ronan and Jaime that pretty much involved me saying "omg the app was AWFUL it will not get IN." and one of them saying "..." and as the apps went up, I became convinced that mine had been lost in the internet and hadn't even made it to submission. PART OF ME was quite pleased with this because then no one would see my fail! And the other part was freaking out and made me stay up until 2am, waiting for the last batch to materialise, before I got so tired that I needed sleep. A-and then it got posted at like. 2:12am. MY LIFE IN A NUTSHELL.

And now that you all know the deep, deep depth of my insecurity, I'm going to go study some more for my exam. Which is only tomorrow. <3

Character: Luke Smith
Series: The Sarah Jane Adventures
Age: Appears 13 14 -- OOPS I DID IT AGAIN GUYS. How does that happen TWICE?
Canon: The Sarah Jane Adventures is a heartwarming story about a boy and his MILF. Luke Smith is that boy. To fully understand the SJA, think of it as basically Doctor Who, for kids. Then realise that since Doctor Who is already for kids, the SJA are really just an excuse for a former companion of the Doctor to have a rollicking good time fighting aliens and saving the world in similar ways to the Doc himself, but with the added involvement of a bunch of kids along for the ride.

Luke himself was created in a lab a few months ago by a group of aliens who thought that fizzy drinks were the best way to take over the world. This would have been a great plan had everyone liked fizzy drinks, but unfortunately they needed a little something extra to get to those who didn’t. So they grew a boy. And not just any boy, but one formed from the thoughts and memories of the entire human race. Naturally, all that random information has formed a socially awkward thirteen-year-old boy with the vocabulary and speech patterns of an eighteenth-century physics textbook writer whose lived in a university for most of his adult life. Basically, Luke can give you some extraordinarily brilliant reasons for why e really does equal mc squared, but needs to ask someone to explain the purpose of games. Ridiculously earnest and extremely keen to please every one he comes into contact with, he'll try to provide people with help in just about any situation, including accidentally telling a teacher how to blow up the world. Despite his rather dorktacular personality, however, all things considered Luke Smith is a kid you want on your side when the bad guys are closing in. Especially if you need someone to help you steal a shuttlecraft.

My answers are accurate to fifteen decimal places, so I am certain that my performance is adequate. Unfortunately it seems that I can't locate all of the results in the companion connect-the-dot puzzle, therefore I've had to alter some of the conjoining vectors to ensure that the image provides an recognisable representation of what I believe to be a dodecahedron phased with a cube.

In any case, I was midway through answering problem fifteen when I realised that I wasn’t on the lounge chair anymore. Whilst I’m not aware of the precise mechanics of my translocation, I believe it relates to the combined effect of problems six, ten and fourteen’s improbable results being located in such close proximity to each other on the sheet. They seem to have interacted quite unusually with the diagrammatic representation, such that the centre of the page has actually folded in on itself, which has lead to the present dilemma of my transferred location. You, sir, seem to be marked with quantification symbology, therefore am I correct in assuming that you are the mathematical designer of this particular pocket dimension? If so, would you care to take a look at my answers and demonstrate how to reverse their effects from this location? I’m simply not familiar with your gateway address. Here – please take a look. You'll see the primary issue about halfway down the page, where I state quite clearly that in order to follow the problem to its ultimate conclusion, one needs to divide by 0.000000000000042 - a denominator far to close to zero than I am comfortable with when using just a standard issue calculator.

Oh, you see the problem! That's fabulous. Do you think you can reverse the effect at all? Perhaps I need to input an algorithm between points five and eight on the design? I considered that approach, however ultimately I believe that would simply lead to continued division by zero further on, and I'm really not certain that the paper could withstand such an attack, particularly given its already deteriorated state. But if you insist, I can give it a try...

There, you see? Something awful always happens when you divide by zero. Normally it just involves complex negative transnumeration, but I’m not entirely surprised to see such an unusual result when we're located within extradimensional space, although I'm not certain why it was your hand that fell off when it was my own that completed the equation. Er, you should really have that looked at by a trained medical practitioner, and quickly. If you wait too long, the tissue will putrefy and no one will be able to reattach it. I can take a look at it if you like, but I’d highly recommend seeking professional help, since the decay process is advancing rather swiftly. And spreading.

No, multiplying by zero will not solve the problem. In fact, the effects are likely to increase by at least tenfold. If you insist on completing that action, however, I think I’ll just take a few steps backward before... oh. I did try to warn you. I believe it would now be best to locate that medical professional, as it's generally considered impossible to survive for long periods of time without one's cranium attached.

Age: Six months, but appears 13 14. o-orz. my last minute skills, they are epically flawed.
Height: Taller than his mother.
Weight: No idea, but probably a bit on the lighter side of normal.
Medical Info: Has no navel! Other than that, entirely normal.
Eyes: Brown. No, blue. No, brown. No, blue... gray?
Hair: Brown.
Physical Features: Again, has no navel! Also, he runs like a dork. This is probably because he is one.

What's Okay To Mention: Anything goes. He was grown in a lab, he can take whatever you throw at him. Just... be prepared to explain why. As to canon, for the general Whoniverse he is up to date with the end of Season Four Doctor Who. HOWEVER, I will not be updating him with Season Two SJA, at least not until it has finished, since there are likely to be epic twists and turns. So no spoilers, please.

Abilities: Well, apparently his brain is chock full of delicious telekinetic energy, but that only manifests when he's got that headband jiggery thing on. Which he will not be having in camp, because nobody wants to hurt the adorable kid, right? RIGHT. Other than that, he's extremely intelligent and has a memory that I am so jealous of - for example, he can remember every word of every book he's ever read. And he reads extremely fast.

Notes for Psychics: I think he would be an open book to psychics, given how completely trusting he is under normal circumstances.

Shapeshifting/Bodyswapping/Spitting at/Stepping on/Etc: Ask first! I'll most likely be okay with it.

Hugging/Kissing/Other Non-Violent Physical Contact: Luke loves cuddles, apparently his smarts make him a total hit with the ladies, and he has recently learned how to high-five. Bring it.

Maim/Murder/Death: No, thank you.

Emo/Angst/Drama: This is acceptable. But, you know, he's basically a baby. Let's not be too nasty. He doesn't even know what emo is yet.

And, uh. DISCLAIMER of sort: Luke is a genius. He has the memory of TEN THOUSAND HUMANS. I, however, am not a genius and for this, I apologise. Wikipedia will be my new best friend, just point me at it if you think Luke would know something that I clearly do not!
